Ivan Gospodinov is one of the founders of the Education without Backpacks.

He is also the official language advocate for the Bulgarian language at Khan Academy. Since 2011 he has been translating and recording educational videos and coordinating the platform’s workflows.

Ivan teaches Philosophy and German. At Education without Backpacks he is the lead expert on educational policies, advising institutions such as the Ministry of Education, and he leads teacher trainings.

He is a doctoral candidate in Philosophy of Education at the Catholic University of Eichstätt‑Ingolstadt, holds a master’s degree in Educational Sciences from the University of Edinburgh (2017) and a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Leipzig University (2013).

Ivan is a former “Teach for Bulgaria” teacher and participates in the international Teach for All network. He is a Forbes Bulgaria “30 under 30” laureate in Education.
