What do you donate for:

  • For the work on the Bulgarian version of Khan Academy, one of the most used and helpful educational platforms with materials in all basic sciences and with tools for teachers and parents. Completely free. You can even “adopt” a specific video lesson or topic from Khan Academy.
  • For our work with teachers and schools through supportive trainings, free webinars, and consultations. You can even “invest” in a new series of free video tutorials for Bulgarian teachers with digital applications and practices useful for them and students.

    How to donate:

    Khan Academy in Bulgarian is funded entirely on a local level, just like each of the other 60 language versions. “Education Without Backpacks” is the Bulgarian organization which for several years has been dedicated to the large-scale task of translation, adaptation, and promotion of the platform, including fundraising.

    We also highly appreciate, since March 2020, great communication support from our partners Viber and EasyPay, as well as donations from 14 employees of VM Ware!

    Khan Academy’s US headquarters provides the base infrastructure for content delivery and translation, and also has received support from partners such as Bank of America, AT&T, Google.org, Novartis. (“Education Without Backpacks” is independent of the Headquarters). The above model is typical of how Khan Academy achieves success in other countries.

    Payroll giving or direct debit

    You determine the amount and duration of the donation. One option is payroll giving – the amount you specify is transferred directly from your payroll to “Education Without Backpacks”. The other option is direct debit to your bank.

    For Payroll Giving:

    Give it to your company’s Accounting or HR Department.

    For Direct Debit:

    Fill in the attached form – Direct_debit;

    Take the completed form to a branch of your bank.

    Information for donors:

    Donors can receive a certificate to certify their donation to the relevant tax authorities. For this purpose, you need to sign a Donation Agreement.
